About Lightholder Studio

Material is central to how these ideas take form. I work across acrylic paint, collage, charcoal drawing, plaster, wood, and oil stick, often layering and combining processes within a single piece. Surfaces are built up and broken down, carved, sanded, and reconstructed to create depth and physical presence. Plaster and wood introduce weight and structure, while charcoal and oil sticks allow for direct, expressive mark-making. Collage fragments disrupt and reassemble imagery, reinforcing a sense of construction and reinvention. Bright, high-contrast color is applied deliberately to command space and hold attention. My studio practice is hands-on and experimental, emphasizing texture, density, and material tension as essential components of the final work.

Artist Statement

Artist Statement

I am a multimedia artist. My work is a modern revival of ancient myth, bringing new context to old lessons while exploring the awakening of a new era of universal culture. I draw from the symbolic power of ancient gods, relics, and legendary narratives, allowing them to re-enter contemporary conversations. By recontextualizing mythological figures and historical artifacts, I examine how inherited stories continue to shape identity, technology, belief, and transformation in the present moment.
